Hypnotherapy FAQs

As with everything that is new to you, you may have questions regarding our services; we have provided answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding our services below, but if you are still in doubt please do not hesitate to contact us.

What is Hypnosis?

The popular upheld belief that hypnosis entails falling asleep and not knowing what is happening,is further from the truth than you can ever imagine. The truth is that you are in a state of heightened awareness during a time of relaxation. The conscious mind is then bypassed, allowing direct communication with the subconscious mind.

It is during this relaxed state that the minds' conscious awareness with reason, excuse making and rationale, no longer takes centre stage. The state of relaxation is such an enjoyable experience that the conscious mind is happy to take a backseat and permit the unconscious mind to take over.

Hypnosis occurs naturally throughout our daily lives, often without our being aware of it. This phenomena is often called daydreaming.

Have you ever been in a car driving and your mind wanders elsewhere? You are still perfectly safe to drive and often arrive at your destination, sometimes wondering how you got there? The same phenomena occurs in hypnosis. You are perfectly safe. There are no side effects from hypnosis. Indeed it is one of the safest methods for reducing stress and muscle tension that exists without medication.

The therapist can not take over your mind and make you do anything which you would not wish to do. The power is yours.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is used during the hypnotic state to allow for healing to occur. This may be the resolution of existing problems which are holding the client back in their life. It acts directly with the inner consciousness to bring about positive change. Whilst the client relaxes in the hypnotic state the therapist works with the unconscious mind, using suggestion and imagery to enable the client to see, and act upon new positive thoughts to replace existing negativity.

In doing so the client can realise the dreams and ambitions that have previously been unattainable. The changes are made at an unconscious level and occur much quicker and with less resistance than if made outside a this hypnotic state, allowing for the natural healing to occur at a physical, psychological or emotional level.

Will My Treatment Hurt?

Absolutely not! You perform the sequential tapping in the order given by your therapist. You will then be given your personal prescription of the tapping sequence for your problem. You know then that should a similar incident/anxiety occur again then you are well equipped to deal with it, and we are here to give any advice whenever you need it.

How Long Will My Treatment Take?

Depending on the severity of your issue it can take anything from 30 minutes to an hour. This includes the initial pre-treatment talk.

Do I Need To Wear Anything Different?

No - you turn up as you would normally when visiting someone. No clothes are removed and unless the client needs someone to do the tapping for them, using their therapist as a surrogate tapper, then there is no physical contact at all.

Do You Offer A Free Consultation?
